The Mad & Crip Theology Press Community Writing Centre
Welcome to the Community Writing Center!
The Writing Center is an extension of Mad & Crip Theology Press, created to provide writers with personalized support while continuing our mission of fostering an inclusive, community-driven space. I, Amy, am currently offering editorial services, workshops, and community gatherings designed to help writers develop their craft and share their stories.
We work in Crip time, recognizing that each writer’s pace is unique. Feedback is always gentle and kind, focused on helping you grow as a writer while respecting where you are in your process. I’m delighted to work with first-time authors, helping you navigate the journey of writing and creating without pressure or expectation.
While the Writing Center is part of the press, there is no commitment or expectation that projects worked on here will be published by Mad & Crip Theology Press. My goal is to help you refine your work and explore your writing, regardless of its final destination.

Consultations
Not sure where to start or how I can help with your writing project? I offer a free 20-minute consultation to discuss your needs and how we might work together. This gives you the chance to share a bit about your project, ask questions, and explore how my services can support you.
For more in-depth discussions or feedback, you can book a one-hour consultation at $60 per hour, with reduced rates available for students, under-employed, or fixed-income individuals.
Payment Information
After your session or service, I will send you payment details. Payment is due within 7 days of receiving the invoice. Payments can be made via PayPal, credit card or e-transfer. For clients in Canada, HST will be added to the total cost.
I understand that everyone’s financial situation is different, so if you need more time or would prefer to split the payment into instalments to align with your pay schedule, I’m happy to discuss options. My goal is to make this process as supportive and accessible as possible, so please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or need flexibility.
Why Work with Me?
As a Mad, neurodivergent, Crip, and disabled person, I understand how difficult it can be to find editors who truly "get it." Writing about your lived experiences, especially in fields like madness, disability, trauma, and social justice, requires a level of insight, understanding, and shared experience that’s not always easy to find.
I believe in co-creating with you and working together to uplift your unique voice and vision. My goal is to support your growth as a writer while ensuring that your work remains authentically yours. I’m here to help you refine your ideas, not reshape them, and to provide feedback that honours your perspective and creativity. My goal is for you to feel heard, seen, and valued throughout the process.
